From Bare Slab to Nightly Hosting Headquarters — Newman Village · Frisco, TX

From Bare Slab to Nightly Hosting Headquarters

Challenge
A new-build estate was handed over with a vast, empty back patio — no shade, no cooking station, and a 20-foot drop in usable depth before the lawn began. The family had moved in six months earlier and were still grilling on a freestanding cart in the garage opening because the patio was unusable past 4pm in summer.
Our build
We built a 22-ft L-shaped stone island wrapping the corner of the patio, with a 36-inch built-in gas grill, side burner, refrigeration drawers, and a sealed-trash pull-out. Above it, a porcelain-tile loggia on powder-coated steel posts brought shade and dimmable warm-tone lighting. The loggia roof matches the home's existing roofline pitch so it reads as original construction.
Result
The family hosts dinner outside four to five nights a week from May through November. The home appraised 6% higher the year after completion, and two neighbors in Newman Village have since hired us off this project.

A Linear Fire Feature That Anchored the Whole Acre — Windsong Ranch · Prosper, TX

A Linear Fire Feature That Anchored the Whole Acre

Challenge
An acre-plus Windsong Ranch lot felt cavernous after dark. The pool was beautiful in daylight and invisible by 8pm, and the family had drifted back to eating inside. The owners asked for 'something that pulls people out and keeps them out.'
Our build
We built a 6-ft linear gas fire feature on the back-third of the patio — far enough from the house to make the trip feel like a destination, close enough to wave at people inside. A curved drystack-stone seat wall wraps it on three sides, seating 18 comfortably. Bronze up-lights on the existing oaks behind the wall layered the background, and warm-glow path lighting threaded back to the house so the route reads at night.
Result
The owner calls it 'the gravity well.' Evening backyard use tripled within the first month, and the family now hosts a standing Friday fire night through the cooler months.

An Old Covered Porch, Rebuilt as a Year-Round Room — Tanglewood · Fort Worth, TX

An Old Covered Porch, Rebuilt as a Year-Round Room

Challenge
A tired 1990s covered porch with rotted wood beams, a cracked slab, and a wood-burning fireplace that no longer drew. Beautiful Tanglewood neighborhood, embarrassing patio. The family wanted to keep the fireplace's character but didn't trust any part of the existing structure.
Our build
We demolished the existing structure down to the footings. Rebuilt in cypress timbers on a powder-coated steel substructure for a 480-sq-ft covered area. Re-poured a thicker stamped slab on a properly drained base. The original limestone fireplace was restored stone-by-stone with a new code-compliant flue and a real wood-burning firebox that drafts correctly even on still nights.
Result
Used through every Fort Worth winter. The family added a real entertaining room to the house without adding interior square footage — and the fireplace works for the first time in a decade.
